Members of Keane, the Killers and Mumford and Sons worked together on new album 'Mt. Desolation'.
The record is a side project helmed by Keane members Jesse Quinn and Tim Rice Oxley - who had originally planned to record a country record together.
Speaking to BBC6 Music, Tim said: "We were on tour with Keane and we had a pretty late night and in the small hours of the morning the conversation turned to country music and it seemed like a good idea to make our own country album. Somehow over the months that followed, it came together."
Jesse added: "You said it was a great idea, I said it was a terrible idea."
Appearing on the album are The Killers' Ronnie Vanucci, Noah and the Whale's Tom Hobden, and Mumford and Sons' Winston Marshall, though Jesse says they mainly recruited their friends to play o it with them, which gave it a homely feel.
He explained: "Fimbo, the drummer was in the same class as us at school and he's a farmer; and he was like 'I can't stay the night, I've got to get back and start back on the harvest, because we've had terrible weather'.
"That's what's nice it the band, people turning up and doing their bit then going back and doing what they do."
Describing the final sound, Tim joked: "It's like all the best bits of the Beatles albums combined. It sounds like everything should be there, but it's pretty mixed.
