NICKI MINAJ, the American rapper who recently performed at the MTV VMA's pre-show, has spoken about her love for gay fans who attend her shows, and how they have inspired 'her movement'. The 25-year-old told Out Magazine, "Obviously, the majority of the men in hip-hop don't want you to think they're gay. That's just the reality of it. I'm a woman, so I have a lot more flexibility. And I don't lose credibility in any way if I say I think girls are dope and sexy".

Minaj, who performed at the MTV Video Music Awardspre-show on Sunday 12th September, is touted by many to be the 'next big thing', in rap. Meanwhile, Canadian rapper DRAKE has opened up about his recent 'joke marriage' to the singer, he told PeopleMagazine, "My mom was actually like, 'What happened? How did you elope?' But we were just joking around. I never thought it would get so out of hand. Ironically, I got a ring for myself, so people were like, 'Aw, you got married".

Trinidad born Minaj signed to Young Money Entertainment back in August 2009, and her debut album 'Pink Friday', is set to be released on November 23rd 2010. 

WILL.I.AM, the record producer and leader of the BLACK EYES PEAS, has defended his decision to cover his face with black makeup whilst performing at an MTV Video Music Awards pre-show. The 35-year-old has been criticised for appearing onstage with a blackened face as he sang with rapper NICKI MINAJ.

However, Will.i.am took to social networking site Twitter to defend his actions, posting, "Just because I wear all black including head mask as expression and emphasize my outfit, it shouldn't be looked at as racial". However, the rapper continued to receive negative messages denouncing his actions, and therefore tweeted once more, this time telling followers "Are you guys serious? My outfit set 'black people back 100 yrs choose your twits wisely. No education sets people back, no jobs, bad health", before adding, "there are far more important things 2 bark about... not a black man wearing all black everything".

Will.i.am and Minaj performed the latter's new single 'Check It Out' in a pre-show performance at the MTV VMA's on Sunday 12th September 2010. Minaj, who was recently described as 'the next LADY GAGA' by choreographer LAURIE ANN GIBSON, releases her new album 'Pink Friday' on November 23rd 2010.

'America's Got Talent' host Nick Cannon has revealed he tried to serenade his wife Mariah Carey with some of her own songs but messed up all the words.

The 'America's Got Talent' host - who married the 'Hero' hitmaker in 2008 - tries to romantically sing his wife's own songs to her but always ends up ruining them.

When asked if he ever sings to Mariah, Nick answered: "Absolutely, and I am the worst singer ever and I try to serenade her with her own songs and I mess up all the words and she just laughs."

The TV presenter also spoke about the vacancy for judges on 'American Idol' - following the departures of Simon Cowell, Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi - and he thinks Mariah would be perfect for a spot on the panel of the pop star search show.

He added to US TV show 'Extra': "She's a voice technician, people don't really understand how her vocal chords work and how hard she actually works at it, so a show like that would give her a great opportunity to show people what it really takes to be one of the world's best singers."

Nick, 29, previously revealed the 40-year-old singer often speaks about judging hopefuls on the series.

He said: "You know what? She talks about it. She says, 'I would love to do that.'

"She is one of the greatest singers of our time; she would be great. I don't know if she has enough time, though, but if they could work with her schedule, I know she would love to do 'American Idol'."

Beyonce Knowles took to the catwalk for Tom Ford on Sunday night (12.09.10).

The 29-year-old singer was among a number of stars to appear on the runway for the exclusive, invite-only show, with Julianne Moore, Chanel Iman and Daphne Guinness also taking to the catwalk.

Speaking about the New York Fashion Week event afterwards, Beyonce confessed it had the "energy of a live show".

She told WWD: "It was so much fun. It felt like a performance. It had the energy of a live show. It's great to see people have fun in fashion."

Meanwhile, 70s-style fashion made a big comeback at New York Fashion Week, with Marc Jacobs debuting a collection heavy on dark colours in floaty fabrics, as well as a number of tailored jackets and wide-rimmed hats.

Halston also looked to the decade for inspiration, with bright colours and asymmetrical dresses making a big impact.

Eminem has revealed he had to teach himself how to rap again after overcoming an addiction to prescription drugs.

The 'We Made You' hitmaker - who sought help for a dependency to prescription medications after overdosing in December 2007 - felt "born again" after successfully overcoming his substance abuse problem.

He said: "When I got clean and sober, it was like I was a kid again. Not to sound corny, I felt like I was born again. I had to learn my writing skills. I was relearning how to rap. I didn't know if my MC skills were intact.

"I actually had to learn how to say my lyrics again - how to phrase them, make them flow, how to use force so they sounded like I meant them. Rapping wasn't like riding a bike. It was as much physical as mental. I was relearning basic motor skills. I couldn't control my hand shakes. I'd get in the recording booth and tried to rap, and none of it was clever and I wasn't saying it right."

The 37-year-old star - whose real name is Marshall Mathers - has also opened up about how his drug use affected his creativity, admitting he felt like he was "frying" his brain.

He added to the New York Post newspaper: "They stifled me. I don't know if I was frying brain cells or what, but I couldn't think. The drugs also made me lazy.

"I was lazy about everything. I'd get high and say, 'F**k writing rhymes. I wanna sit down, watch some TV and eat nachos - and watch more TV.'"

Meanwhile, Eminem's mother Debbie Nelson isreleasing a book about her tumultuous relationship with the 'Not Afraid' star.

Debbie insists the tome will reveal the truth about the hip-hop star's childhood instead of just his negative version of events.

She writes: "I wasn't happy when he made up a whole new life for himself - what mother wants to be known as a pill-popping alcoholic who lives on welfare?

"To tell the truth, I was heartbroken. The lies started coming thick and fast - and not just from Marshall. I think he's forgotten the good times we had, and this book is my way of setting the record straight."

He said: "My goal in life is to have an amazing woman and have a family, but I think I had to go through different things to grow.

"I'm not trying to dive into anything unless I really, really think that I can marry this person. I look at this person and I say, 'This is how I want my daughter to be.'

"I like to really dive in and super-obsess and focus on something and make it as good as possible, so it's like really focusing on my relationship or focusing on my family, but it has to be the right person to do that with."
